Alex Chambers is a writer and naturalist based in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He is currently pursuing an MFA at the University of Alabama, and searching for the elusive Hydroponic Wetland, an experiment in electrolytic agriculture by the Moundville Indians to bypass the nutrient-poor red clay of east-central Alabama. Rumors of a carnivorous water squash there both intrigue and terrify him.
